Mother-in-law not so mini book

One of the ladies in our group was going to become a mother-in-law for the first time. She wanted to do this right. But what and how is right is a very difficult question to answer. We all knew and saw trying to talk about this.

The next while my thoughts was very busy on this question. Eventually, I decided as with any other interaction one needs time with the other to build a relationship. And what better -in my opinion- way to see how a person is building this relationship and be able to remember what was effective and what was less pleasant, than with a mini album.

It became Altas' book, at the end it was not anywhere near something that could be described as a mini. (11"x13.5" ) 27.5cm x about 34cm, it looks like a lever arch file. It ended so big because I wanted to use these gift bags with the face of Audrey Hepburn. I do not think I will ever make such a big book again.

I added some pockets and pages that could lead her, in remembering this book is an activity/tool in getting to know her daughter-in-law better.

I also wanted her to remember that she is important. That in her life she has already accomplished so much.

I included two 3-page pull outs, specifically for her.

A page for the wedding.

Often coffee is used to go do something together. I chose to use this take away paper bag of this coffee shop.
Inside I put a large photo mat.
On the front I added two pockets and filled that, as well as the pocket at the back with cards and envelopes that she can use.

A few of the cards I made.

The card that goes with the gift.

And the gift bag.

Almost forgot, the charm chain on the spine of the book.

Teapot photo mats

It was a 50th birthday, morning tea party we were invited to. The guests were asked dress up; females to wear a hat and the men a bow tie. In the next post I'll show you  my hat. This theme led me to the gift I gave.

I cut two teapot shapes and made a three dimensional teapot with photo mats inside. Instead of trying to explain what I did, here is a short video.
