Unexpected learners

While visiting with a few ladies -

sharing some of what I have seen before -

we tried our hand at mixed media.
Our efforts ended on journal cards.

Two of the end results.

Sitting together; chatting and tearing magazine pages

a very pleasant activity.

Stamp made by hand

Not too fancy

still something I made.

Cut a square of fun foam

drew the coffee mug on it

using a dry or unusable ballpoint pen

It is like a reverse stamp

The square is inked up 

the pen line is the clear space of the stamp.

My stamp used on

a teabag and a coffee filter.

(stick the fun foam on a piece of puzzle board

for stability in stamping)

On Thursday I showed a wedding gift

with an envelope

The card of today was in that envelope.

My plan to wrap this large box

was to use 80g per square meter paper

copy this writing on it

for wrapping

and for making the flowers.

After the photo was taken

I sprayed gold ink over the white paper.

And attached the envelope using double sided tape.

Note on a small gift

The flower is made by

curling and layering die cut flowers

in different sizes.

Used an index card to stick and paste 

my added bits.

Have not decided whether the

flowers and butterfly are giant or

the bird is miniature.

A square card, 15cm x 15cm

another unusual size for me.

I like how this one ended

a bit of this and a bit of that;

ink, watercolour paint, embossing, texture paint, stamp,

flowers punched and assembled, 

topped with a bling

Long after the fact.

Brother in law unexpectedly went for a heart operation, after it was all over I gave this mini album to sister-in-law.

Today my card is more like a  notelet.

Bag made with baking paper.

Cluster on the front includes a rectangle of black leather

This two cards open upwards not as the direction I normally prefer, left to right.

Left over leather.

A friend, involved in community work, received loads of off cut leather pieces. 

My not so original idea for an item that can be made from those off cuts.

Sixth Mixed Media Morsels & Mash-ups Challenge

Moving the crackle background morsel as the paint began to show the crackle I dropped it. Like a slice of bread with peanut butter it landed on the wet side. That oh-no-moment added more character to the lovely cracked background.

Although not a lot, the colour is affected because of the night time photo.
I stamped on the second layer of a serviette, and covered the whole page with it. Painted
mod podge over the whole index card, then coloured using the colour from watercolour pencils and a brush. The mod podge layer must have been uneven. I started off trying to paint only the 'celebrate' but the red seeped under the paper, there after I pained lightly over the whole card.
Used the same method for the orange flowers.
My butterfly doodle, was made on black card stock then fussy cut and stuck in place.
Still deciding if I like what this doodle looks like, reminds me of mehndi.

No idea why the colour in these photos are so different from the cards in reality.
